Thread: Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne - Official Thread

  1. Ammadeau, that other game coming out that in the US was just talked about, Atelier something, is that the one you really enjoyed, that's about alchemy and such?

I'll finally be starting this game tonight, after finishing Paper Mario 2, it's a shame there aren't more people interrested =/

  2. Atelier Iris, yeah. I really liked it, but then I've been a fan of the Atelier series since the first game so I'm not the best person to judge. It's rough in some spots, probably because its such a departure from the previous games, so I gave it a 4/5. I'll also be buying it again when the English version hits because I enjoyed the story for some reason, even if it's not the greatest RPG story ever told.

As for Nocturne, I think Atlus hurt themselves by delaying it too much and their usual low key advertising. As well as the game getting pirated a month before release. That might not hurt big titles, but I think it does dig into the sales of lesser known ones.

  3. re: people calling Philemon a "[butt] kisser"

No, I meant Philemon (and others on the Atlus discussion board) had been asking for SMT for a long, long time. A lot of people would've given up, but he didn't. The effort paid off in the end; it's out in the US. That's what matters.

Yeah, I didn't give up either. And I did it without kissing their asses.

  5. Am I the only one here who bought this game?

  6. i did. paper mario comes first, though.

  7. I thought about it, since it sounds like it had something more to offer than most JRPGs. I don't really like the art style or character designs, though, so I passed in favor of all the other big releases.

I totally agree, this game was worth the price of admission alone simply to see all his designs nicely brought to 3D.

I got this game day one and I don't regret it for a second. It's a unique JRPG, how can everyone be passing it up? I'd take this or any of the Persona games over any FF game after FFIII.
    Time for a change

Nope. It's just that I haven't had much time for playing, and add to that the fact that I finally met a boss that trounced me. I'll get into it a bit more by the weekend.
