So I finally started playing Persona 3 Portable. It's a dating sim by day and a randomly generated dungeon crawl at night.

I'm playing through as the girl character so the game won't be exactly the same if I ever feel like playing Persona 3 FES. On a related note, is there any reason to play the original over FES at all, or does it just straight up replace it forever?

Agreed. The music and overall front-end of the PSP game is unbelieveable. I just picked up P3P last week and I'm loving the hell out of it.

Hard to believe I waited this long before becoming an absolute SMT f-chan.

Persona 3 gets old fast.... I think I made it to level 50+ or so and gave up.

The RPG section is for sure. But part 3 does everything else better!

I've made it all the way through FES and I'm right near the last boss in P3P yet I still can't bring myself to get through the true ending of P4.

I wish the environments were more varied and there had been more story, or at least more events throughout each month. P3 started off amazing but the repetition of doing nothing except schoolwork and bland, boring grinding set in hard, and I got bored about halfway through and could never bring myself to go back. I watched someone else finish it off and confirmed I didn't really miss out on anything besides the boring parts getting dragged out for like three or four months too long.

So I started this game for reals now that I'm done with P3P. It's pretty awesome for an old PS2 game, wish I'd gotten into it a few years ago.

Haven't really done much yet but it seems pretty cool so far. I'm kind of worried about it getting too hard or frustrating later. I really prefer to just play games without having to resort to a guide, but RPGs are usually the main offenders for that.
