Ouch. Perhaps a sign that comic book adaptations are on the slowdown? God, I hope so.

Both Latino Review and IGN Filmforce are reporting that 20th Century Fox and Marvel are going with "Barbershop" director Tim Story for Fantastic Four. Story also directed the upcoming Queen Latifah action-comedy "Taxi".
Filming is expected to start in August, so stay tuned for casting news"
FF isn't what it used to be, but the Kirby comics back in the 60's are considered some of the greatest comics ever. They're the backbone of the Marvel universe as far as I'm concerned, and I expected the movie to be treated better than handing it off to the guy who directs fucking Queen Latifah straight to video comedies.

I'm trying to picture Rick Reed and The Thing trying to cut hair, and it just ain't working.
If Ice Cube plays Reed Richards this movie will rock.

Actually the Barbershop Movies have been a big hit, and it
doesn't matter on the director as long as the product is good.
Hey, some directors can suprise you. The Hughes Brothers only directed urban-themed flicks like Menace II Society, Dead Presidents and American Pimp, and then they turned around and did a fine job on From Hell, which is nothing at all like their previous movies. So who knows, the Barbershop guy might do a good job.

Right, just look at the job Ang Lee did with the Hulk.
And the director of Daddy Day Care and Dr Doolittle 2 is making Iron Fist![]()
Barbershop was a fantastic movie, except for the part with the black people.
Not everyone was black.
