Thread: I have a PC Engine. Now what?

  1. Man, PM PaCrappa and he'll definitely tell you what is the jam on the PCE.

  2. Make sure to check out Carlson Stevens' (16-bit on TNL) excellent eBay store:

The spirit of liberty is the spirit which is not too sure it is always right. -Learned Hand

"Jesus christ you are still THE WORST." -FirstBlood

  3. Pomping World (Buster Bros.) is an inexpensive PCE game. Of course, BB is awesome and needs no description.

  4. PHOTOGRAPH BOY.

    PHO - TO - GRAPH - BOY

... although getting an original PCE copy of the game will probably run a hell of a lot more than picking up a copy of the PSX port.

    Other good stuff:

    - Valkyrie no Densetsu (kinda dwarfed by PSX Namco Classics Vol. 5 and arcade emulation)
    - Shockman (shut up, I like it)
    - Super Star Soldier
    - Magical Chase (goes for stupid amounts of money. just emulate)
    - Don Doko Don
    - Parasol Stars

I have the US version, I got it for free, and I have to say that I do enjoy it. It's funny, I remember reading a horrible review about it in Gamepro years before I played it, but... I think it's fun. I heard it's part of a much bigger series, but I know nothing of the others.

  7. Bloody Wolf's a good one, kind of like Commando (well, a lot like Commando, but who cares?), but with really nice graphics for an 'engine game. Shu bi bin Man 2 is pretty cool as well, though not nearly as cool as 3 (but that's on cd, I'm afraid). How about Bravoman? It's a slightly clumsy Namco platformer that's still quite fun and really amusing (just check out the villian's hair). As has been said ad nauseaum, the cd was really where it's at, but there's still some cool stuff on Hucard to dig up (besides, it's the coolest storage media ever).

I also bought Sonson 2 from Wilykat, and it's also a lot of fun. But I need to know... what are the games I need to be playing? I'm not looking to drop a ton of cash right now, and I can't play any CD games at the moment, but I am looking to increase the size of my library for this thing.

For the record, I do have a few more games for my TG16 than I do for my PCE... Dragon Spirit, Shockman, Splatterhouse, Dragon's Curse, and the second Bonk game.

    Recommend away!
    mandatory titles to be played:

    air zonk
    bonk2
    jj + jeff
    splatterhouse
    vigilante
and if you can find it, the turbografx remake of ninja gaiden
    XBL Gamertag = XMrWhitefolksX

I'm sure most of the comic geeks here know who Neal Adams is. For those who don't he was only one of the greatest artists of all times (great Batman and Green Lantern/Arrow stuff).
How far the great have fallen.
My god. (as said by the great voice actor of House of the Dead 2)
