That is a lady bug
they eat mites
they are harmless to you
This is what I had to deal with last year.
Seems the little f***ers have a habit of gathering near my kitchen window during the summer and right now they are starting to gather a bit early.
Does anyone have this problem and know how to deal with it?

I recommend poisonous gasses or running them through with pins. The latter can take quite some time, though.
What you were looking at is what we call an "asian beetle" and those little sob's have a tendency to bite if they sit on you too long.Originally Posted by IronPlant

Asian beetles suck ass. Farmers put them in to eat their mites and keep their plants all cool...now they overrun everything, including my home.
And UNLIKE ladybugs who are cute and totally harmless, asian beetles are vicious. They attack you and actually will bite. They also emit a very annoying and gross musk.
your mom
So that wasn't a lady bug that bit me the other day. Damn asian beetles.
One of the guys I know running a country station was talking about getting people together to file a class action suit against the DNR for bringing those damn beetles over.Originally Posted by Mman

Fucking asian ladybugs overran the GTA a few years ago.
What happened is asian aphids got into the previously untouched soy farms, and boomed. So, that summer we had huge city-covering clouds of aphids. So they imported asian ladybugs, which ate the asian aphids, and those suckers boomed into a massive population. (And yes, they do BITE sometimes.) They got into houses all over the place that year, and haven't gone away yet.
We've had a bunch of them in our house all winter.
Wait, so you're telling me people still don't understand the dangers of bringing in foreign plants and animals with no natural predators (in their new homes)?
