Seeing and playing the newest titles is always a good thing to do at E3, but you can't forget your roots. For the nostalgic among us, Intellivision and the organizers of the Classic Games Expo have announced that they will devote over 2,000 square feet of the Kentia Hall showfloor to a "History of Video Games" museum.
"Intellivision is extremely excited and proud to be the sponsor of the History of Video Games museum," said Keith Robinson, president of Intellivision Productions. "The guys at the Classic Gaming Expo have a deep affection for the history and the games that started it all and have always been a strong supporter of Intellivision Productions. We are thrilled to give attendees the opportunity to learn how this whole video game craziness started, as well as give them the opportunity to play the original games that are now the forefathers to the ones they play on today's consoles."
The museum will showcase over 30 vintage arcade cabinets as well as a replica of what a gamer's living room would've looked like in the days of the Atari 2600. The first game system produced — the Magnavox Odyssey — will make an appearance alongside such home computers as the Apple II and Commodore 64. Those interested in hearing about the industry's youth will be able to speak with the Blue Sky Rangers, Intellivision's own oddly named programmers.

This sounds pretty cool. It'd be kinda neat seeing the old style cabinets (hopefully) refurbished to their former glory.
That C-64 better have Impossible Mission already loaded and ready to go.
That it does...Originally Posted by Werewolf
Maybe it'll be like at a Carny show and they'll have some dude on display hanging out...wearing Zips shoes with feathered hair and an REO Speedwagon shirt.

Impossible Mission with a side of Jumpman, please.
If there's a Robotron cabinet in there I'm probably not leaving until the final bell sounds on Friday, and that'll take a crowbar. I can't wait to see what they've got.

I wonder if they will have one of those cable boxes with the slider to change the channels, some bean bag chairs and thick odd color rugs![]()
I've enjoyed seeing this every year at CGE; glad that a whole new audience will get to take a gander at all the great memorabilia in one place.
Hopefully they'll have this on display:

The Neptune looks awesome. Hopefully, VGPub and DBS will have plenty of shots from the CGM.
