For the first: He wanted to get in, and she wouldn't let him. The book explains this by saying "he has a bad temper." That's all. As for the second, it's just to support what everyone else in the wizarding world thinks about his character, I'd imagine.

Except that we're going to miss out with the Dursley meeting the Weaslys, which I thought was hilarious. I also love the part about the letter mrs. weasly sends the dursleys, it's a shame we wont get to see that.
Ah, it's been so long. There I go confusing books again.

I suppose you are correct, Regus. Missing anything is a shame, really. I'm currently reading through PoA again, but I'll be doing GoF before the movie releases, so maybe I'll have my books straight by then.

You'll come to discover that the Ministry of Magic is as manipulative as they come, and they will pull every punch to ensure the public feels the same way they do, even if they are wrong.

I enjoy watching deleted scenes, and a "director's cut" is always nice, but if scenes are integral to the movie, they should be in it the first time around.

  5. Astor - No, if your fuscia was my paisley it wouldn't seem too strange to me at all - BUT the colors we see as "matching" is more of an aesthetic leaning that just comes with you out of the box. If I were to wear hot pink and orange you'd say "WTF" simply because such a combination is not asthetically pleasing. To anyone. That's why it's a safe bet that we see the same colors.

It's not like someone taught you what goes with what, it's just something we all see the same. Unless you're color blind, in which case you don't matter.
So I forced my hands in my pockets and felt with my thumbs and gallantly handed her my very last piece of gum.

    (fuck spoiler tags)

No, no, no. It was Lupin who clawed up the Fat Lady's portrait while on one of his werewolf destruction sprees.

Are you sure? Could have sworn it was Black. She wouldn't let him in without a password and he did that.

Saw it today and it was great. But coming from reading the book to seeing the movie, it's amazing how much was cut out and it was still a 2h 20m movie. The book is so much more complex and rich, it's a shame so many important things were never touched on. More ensentive to read the books I guess.

  9. Because, largely, our species finds the same tones soothing. That's why. Think. It's why fast food joints can throw yellow and red everywhere to make us want to leave or police use red and blue. If you saw the McDonalds spectrum as a nice, fall look you'd most likely pull out a book and continue to take up space in their restaurant.

    Dur.

Yes, but what makes you think that's inherent? I bet if you saw fire as "blue" and antartica looked "red" i'd probably associate blue as warm and red as cold.

Again, I believe your right. I just think there's no way you can say "this is so, it can't be otherwise". The alternative is possible
