Thread: Final Fantasy I and II Advance - Updated info

  1. Square - more like this please in the US.

Wouldn't mind seeing the nexto Chrono series on the GBA either. That or maybe they'll get around to properly finishing then publishing Cross.

  2. I think the almost finished WSC remake of FFIII is essentially guaranteed for GBA at this point, but probably not any Final Fantasies after that. At least not any direct SNES ports, both Square and Enix have been shying away from that. The WSC/PS1 remake of Front Mission 1 would be good though, especially as the PS1 version doesn't seem to be getting a western release any longer. Brownie Brown should do a Shinyaku version of Seiken Densetsu 2 as well, adding in all the content that was cut when it switched from CD to a 16Mbit cart. Maybe even SD3 after that, it'd be great to have the entire trilogy in one place.

  3. Magicbox-
Square Enix producer Takashi Tokita mentioned that the company is planning for a new Final Fantasy RPG title for GameBoy Advance, which is completely new and original. Also, Tokita mentioned that Nintendo has requested them to translate the classic RPG Final Fantasy III for GBA, but after negotiations the companies agreed on developing Final Fantasy I & II Advance instead.

  4. The Magicbox report is based off a mangled translation. Tokita said he'd like to do an original GBA project (nothing about FF was mentioned though) and Nintendo is interested in getting FF3 on GBA (FF1+2 isn't being done in it's place however).

Thanks to tennin on the GA forums.

if it's not a ff game, do you think it'll be original or a port of a non-ff game...

    chrono trigger maybe...?

    sorry, not port, sequel
    All is well.

  6. This is exciting.
