We'll see how he handles the big screen Firefly movie. I fully expect that to have a dark tone to it bit it's at least half the budget (probably less) of something like X-men.

It's the biggest budget he's ever handled.

They finally picked a director by the name of Matthew Vaughn who recently did a movie called Layer Cake.

I can't say I know any of his works but I'm hoping he can make a final and excellent X-Men movie.

AICN is reporting that the X-cast in X3 will have 3 new members: Beast, Angel and Gambit but supposedly Angel will be a female.

Woohoo!!! I'm not too crazy about Angel being a female but the other two make it worth it, I can't wait to see who they pick and how they'll look.

Yeah, I guess they had a smaller ratio of females in the cast but eh. That's changing a bit too much and I prefer it to stay at least somewhat true to the comic counterpart.

It's been announced that X-Men 3's director will be a guy named Matthew Vaughn, director of some movie called LAYER CAKE. X2's screenwriter, Zak Penn, wrote the script for 3 as well.

Very happy that Beast and Gambit are in this one. I was never an Angel fan to begin with so I don't really care that they're making him a chick. Still, there's something to be said for staying true to the comics, and there's tons of female characters to choose from there. So why give Angel a sex change?

Did anyone watch the deleted scenes on the X2 DVD? There's a scene from the museum in the beginning with Jubilee, and the girl playing her was pretty cute. If they need more female characters they should just give her a part in 3.
