Thread: X-Men 3: News and info thread

  1. I loved the character design for Wolvie in the Wolverine's Revenge game. Kinda lion or tiger-like. I really dug the extra-long claws and the stealth aspects of the gameplay as well.

The Stealth is what really made the game for me since it prevented it from being just another game where you run around hacking people up.

  3. If you really like nightcrawler and ice man X3 is worth a rent but not a whole lot else. I really liked Ice man stages I liked how for once you got a full ice slide.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Fox Home Entertainment will release X-Men: The Last Stand on DVD in two different special edition sets on October 3, 2006. The film, for which Brett Ratner took over directing duties from previous X-Men helmer Bryan Singer, was a huge success at the box office, and is expected to continue that winning streak on DVD. No official MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) has yet been announced.

While final details are currently unavailable for the different editions, the sets are supposed to include some combination of the following materials:

Three alternate endings, with optional commentary by Brett Ratner

    10 deleted scenes

Audio commentary by Ratner, the writers and the producers

Two Easter eggs: in one, Beast recites Shakespeare; in the other, the X-Jet lands in Washington

Preview of the upcoming Fox movie A Night At the Museum

According to the Reporter, Fox also is preparing a collector's edition DVD set that includes an exclusive 100-page commemorative book that features an all-new story written by Stan Lee. It is his first original Marvel Comics book in five years. Additionally, Fox announced plans to release a third set that packages all three films together.

Box art is currently unavailable for this title.

  5. Meh... sounds alright. The other first run XMen DVDs weren't anything to write home about, either, though. Within a year before X4 launches expect them to double dip with a new collectors edition X3 DVD.

More likely the Wolverine spinoff... but there was only one X2 DVD, only X-Men got a double dip, and it didn't add anyhting worthwhile except a DTS track. But they could add all the shit they want to this movie, I certainly won't be buying it.

Yeah, but the X2 DVD set was good.

No, the X-Men double dip added a pretty good Bryan Singer commentary track as well.

I agree, I just was commenting on what was said before about double dips.

Really? damn, I can't believe I didn't notice that. I have been wanting to "upgrade" for DTS, but can't make myself spend the money to do such a thing, esp. since I know eventually it'll be out in a hi-def format.

X-Men 1.5 also had a pretty lengthy documentary and alot of added bonuses of the behind the scenes aspects of the movie from conceptual to finished product.

  10. On my Onkyo home theater, I truly can't hear the difference between Dolby 5.1 and DTS. That is not a bonus in my house. I'd rather have something else. I suppose I need better speakers, but I'm not buying them.
