    I don't know about you guys, but I have come across alot of games where the final level or challenge ruined the entire experience. Most recently was Tony Hawk Undergorund. What otherwise would have been an enjoyable game was ruined by a very flawed final challenge or near final challenge. I wouldn't know I still can't beat the damn thing.

    See here's the flaw. They put the most difficult parts in the middle and the end of the run. So the part you need like twenty attempts to land the first time takes about 20 minutes to do. Then once you do land it, you still need to make the final one at the very end. Needless to say, it's near impossible to have the patience to try this thing as many times as it takes to complete it. We're talking ten to fifteen minutes to get one shot at something that takes many times to get. This isn't difficulty really, it's more of poor planing. After 3 hours, yes 3 fucking hours, I gave up. I don't know if I'll try it again.

    Anyone ever have a final level or challenge leave them hating or giving up on an otherwise good game?

    Not really sure what words you're going for here.

  3. -Mission 50 in Guilty Gear XX is nigh impossible. You are a half dead Ky Kiske with no tension meter (no perfect guard, cancels, or instant kill) against a fucking GOLD SOL with full life (and all that his gold mode implies.)

    -I agree with you on THUG. It took me about 3 hours to do it.

    - Almost all of the Armored Core games get really just too frustrating by the last few missions.

    Any Games where you have to do a Boss rush mode and face all
    the old Bosses that get brought back to life with a palatte
    swap. Um doesn't that negate the fact that you beat them in
    the first place?

    Valkyrie Profile is notorious for this in the Seraphic Gate. I actually enjoyed it, though. It gave me the chance to get their voice clips and fight them again.

  8. I'm not a big fan of final bosses without a life bar. It's tough to see if you are doing anything to them without one.

    Yeah, I hate this as well. I liked all of Viewtiful Joe except the level where you fight all of the bosses again.

  10. Parasite Eve - Top Floor boss, Chrysler Bldg. I love this game, but holy crap this boss was a bitch. If it healed itself once, you might as well start over. No life bar = no idea how you're doing except that the battle kept going on and on. When I finally beat it, the battle took over ninety minutes.

    Crimson Sea - Final boss. Took me hours to finally beat him when the rest of the game wasn't all that difficult, compounded by the unforeseen circumstance of being unable to power up right before the fight. An unanticipated, needlessly frustrating encounter that brought down the entire game for me.

    Metropolis Street Racer - Final race, 25th Chapter. You had to come in first place in three multi-lap races in a row. Several times I was leading on the final lap of the third race only to get nosed out at the finish line by the damn kamikaze AI. I put myself through the punishment only because I am a stubborn completist to a flaw.

    MDK2 - Zizzy Balooba. I mean, the rest of the game was hard, but the final fight was just insane. I never did beat him with all three characters.

    Otogi - Final boss. Sure, you can beat him without the Moonlight Sword, but it's an overly difficult pain in the ass.

    Vexx - Dark Yabu. Technically the only boss battle of the game, and again, needlessly difficult. Vexx is a challenge, but the difficulty shoots vertical at the final boss. It's anticlimactic as well, because the entire game is platforming, and then you've got this stupid, rigidly pattern-based battle that destroys the game's flow. The last world should have been the game's end.
