I don't think it looks bad at all. I didn't expect it to look anything close to the Saturn game anyway.

It's BECAUSE OF I wasn't expecting it to look similar to the SS game why this is a disappointment. They clearly are trying to replicate the original visuals with a subpar wannabe result.

So much for progress when you can play the game while you're taking a shit, I guess.

Maybe if all the years-old ports which are making up most of the "new" 2D games on console sell well we'll get some actual new 2D games. Until then I'll keep playing what plays well.

Would you have prefered a port or recycle like RCREX? Considering the size of the Saturn game's sprites, I'm not sure if it would've translated well to a GBA screen. Honestly, the screens look good to me. The sprites are colorful and detailed, what more could you want? Some of you seem to see this as laziness, but I'm betting on lots of tiny, highly detailed and animated enemies filling the screen.

Nope really, but I was expecting to make a darn effort at least to make them look as close as possible to the Saturn game while keeping in mind the limitations of the GBA hardware.GBA is capable of doing better graphics than that. Just look at Double Dragon Advance, Final Fight One and even Gekido Advance.

well, looks like we all have our minds made up based on these screen shots. im shocked.

id be willing to wager that the nay-sayers who actually play the game when it comes out will be eating shit.

ill reserve judgment for when i get some gameplay write ups, or for when i get my hands on a copy.

I'll buy it. My buddy had this for the Saturn a long time ago, I got to play it all of TWICE. A portable version is cool by me, even if it doesn't look the best it possibly could.

i saw the thread title and i was like "what? are they gonna port the saturn game? that's gonna suck sooo much!" so i didn't bother looking through the thread for screenshots. now that i know it's a new game i'm totally excited for it's release! the new characters look really slick design wise. i think this game is really gonna rock.

p.s. Jetman, those aren't Han and and Valgar.

Those two are not Han and Valgar. They're called En, Rai and Hyou according to the character selection.

They look just like little kid versions of em...Well maybe when it comes out over here the translations will end up showing this to be not true.In the Japanese version of GH were Rai and Hou the names of Valgar and Han respectively by chance?

Read some earlier stuff on the game in this thread, I'm pretty sure it's said the heroes from the first game were defeated. They'll make appearances, but the heroes in this game are new and I think based on elements or something.

Hmmmm, no.

Come on! They're obviously different characters from the Saturn version. In fact, all three characters in the GBA version are palette-swapped versions of the same sprite (they didn't even bother making a head-swap for them).

Meh, Well , with prequel mania in full force these days - I just assumed that this next game in the series was just that.It would explain why Kanon and Super homo Zur are in.
