3 lives, difficulty 10? Yow, evil challenge!

Hit F2 a few times to get to the difficulty option in MAME, for those who don't know. I'm pretty happy to pull in 100K at that level.

Off to see what I can do with this...

I've got a friend who has scored in the 300,000 range and Eugene Jarvis (the creator of the game) has scored somewhere around 900,000, so it is possible to rake in solid scores at this difficulty, it just demands a large amount of concentration and skill.

And a better controller than the Dual Shock. I can't seem to reliably make the bullets go where I want to with it, a problem I never had with the original arcade sticks. Of course, I was 14-ish at the time so my scores were sad and pathetic things.

Above post = lie. It was on default difficulty. Trying on 10. After 3 tries I'm at
110,800 - Cowutopia.

Oy jesus it's a lot harder on level 10. I've hit 100,000 a few times but die soon after...It's all the brain stage. That's where it's a lot harder. And I've died twice getting there just about ever time. I either don't reach 50,000 or i reach 100,000.

Upshot- put it back to original difficulty and destroyed my old high. 160,000 - 370,000 and wave 16.

[Latest Update: Cowutopia finally realizes that max difficulty is the only way to play Robotron.

Yes. Back on 2 difficulty I got over 400,000 now and reached some crazy ass level.

Max difficulty = Owns me.
