Thread: Preview: Gran Turismo 4

  1. News Preview: Gran Turismo 4

As someone who was was blown away by Pole Position on the Atari 2600, I must say I am heavily impressed with the technical accomplishment of Sony's Gran Turismo team. I barely look at most racing games, especially sim-heavy ones, so when I see one this advanced it can be a shock. And it's on the PS2! How is this even possible?

Say, have there been any fighting games since Karate Champ? I wonder what's going on in that genre?

Don't worry, I didn't write this preview. Have a look.

  2. It still amazes me that this is a PS2 game...anyway, hopefully the have a wider variety of tracks and a different type of career mode available.

I wish Polyphony would make a very fast arcade-type game for a change, as opposed to an arcade-y simulation.

  3. I agree. I wish they'd adopt a similar approach like Project Gotham Racing 2. Personally, I hate having to pass trials for my license and stuff. Sometimes, I just want to select a car and race.

  4. Like in Pole Position!

Except the part about actually selecting a car.
