Did I hear the word spice?
Oh, I'm fine with that. If they make certain items "illegal" and can't be transported from planet to planet through traditional means and so you either need to have a ship or hire someone else to smuggle it for you, then I think that sounds awesome and fits in perfectly.Originally Posted by GameCynic

I've been away so I didn't have a chance to respond till now... either way, even if I over-simplified (which I did, no argument... haven't played the game in many months so I was working from memory... but what I said was still true), if space-combat works the same way, adhering to statistics and not your skill flying a ship, that'll be very unfortunate. I don't think anyone can argue that...Originally Posted by Yoshi
I do however hope that you can use your credits to buy better ships and parts, making skill only part of the equation. That would be ideal to me, and if it ends up that way, which it very well might, I'd probably give it a shot.
For those seeking more info on the Jump to Lightspeed.
It will be real time combat, not menu based.

That link seems to have disappeared. Here's an interview with the developers though, that will give some insite to what Jump to Lightspeed is all about.

The two new species and the beta invite information is going to be released tomorrow (July 15th)!
Go Chiss!
I'm very curious as to how the ships will work into the game's economy.
I mean, are you going to have to buy a new ship every time you are shot down?
No. A ship cannot be completely destroyed.
But you will have to pay for repairs.
lol me and Diff were talking about new races, and he disliked the Chiss very much. Said they looked more like Everquest people then Star Wars, but I'm all for the Chiss.Originally Posted by Yoshi
And also, it looks like the game got pushed back. It was supposed to be released in September I thought, but now ebgames.com is telling me it's coming on October 31st. Ugh.
