I want to march a ATAT into a populated area
ground based dogfights? definately not. it sure would rock, though.

Oh, and IronPlant, they are working on revamping the Smuggler profession, so its likely that youll see some flight-based smuggler missions. But I dont think it would work, from a technical point of view, to put X-Wings or whatever near the ground. It would be all fucked up with regards to scale.
And the ground game is pushing around enough triangles as is. The lack of the ground in space allows for the developers to make much more attractive ships, so you wouldnt be able to get the same looking ship if it were to be on the ground.
they could ground baised only planits. Like Hoth, or an astroid you can fly through. Or make battle zones for it. Like have an area on the planet that you have to be bussed into, and that place be able to have dog fights.Originally Posted by diffusionx
They also need to have pod races.
They would have to make the planets extremely dull-looking, owing to, like I said, the low number of polygons they would have to work with.they could ground baised only planits. A better approach would be just to stock the game with more vehicles, including that plane that was in Hoth in ESB.
I want to kill newbs with an AT AT ;_;
On the SOE boards? Logray, like the Ewok medicine man.Originally Posted by diffusionx
That's turn-based combat no matter how you spin it. In Diablo, you could pick off harder enemies from far away with magic or a bow. Dodging and retreating doesn't come into play in games like SWG because, as you said, the computer does it for you. Combat is meant to be static in MMORPGs.Originally Posted by Damian79
In SWG, the one thing that is dynamic in the combat system is distance. This affects the accuracy of your weapon.Originally Posted by Mfkzt
Anyway, Im sure you all know about it, but the Jump To Lightspeed beta registration is open. Its only for registered Galaxies players, obviously, but check it out.
Also, SOE unveiled 13 of the 15 ships. No big surprises, but they look sweet.
I signed up for the beta yesterday. I am seriously considering cancelling both accounts if I am not chosen, considering I am the definition of a veteran player.
Moving also affects the accuracy of both your opponent and yourself. This is why you get "Rifle Accuracy While Moving" mods for instance.Originally Posted by diffusionx
