Thread: Watchmen

  1. My favorite part was where Beef saved Doyle. I guess they are friends after all!
    Donk

  2. Picked up the Black Freighter Blu-ray with a gift card I had left from Christmas. I really enjoyed it, Under the Hood is actually the better of the two imo . There's also a decent making of doc in the special features.

  3. Just got back from seeing this.

I haven't read the comic, but I thought this was terrible.

A poorly told story in almost every way. I'm sure it's much better in book form.
    Boo, Hiss.

  4. I maintain that it should have been two movies, with the first ending when Rorschach is arrested and the second beginning with him in prison (grease scene and all). The detective-work part of the story was not developed enough.

  5. Nove of it was developed enough.

And the director didn't have to make EVERY LITTLE FUCKING THING so hyper-dramatic.
    Boo, Hiss.

  6. Picked up Black Frieghter Blu-Ray too. Was awesome to see that in animated form with Gerard Butler doing voice work. Never thought Id see that happen, but was just underwhelmed with Under the Hood. Expected more form it somehow.Wanted to see key-points in the Minutemens career acted out or something, not just hear their history retold by Hollis in interview style....

That would of been cool and they would of had to end it on a complete cliff hanger like in the second Matrix movie

I think this was my biggest problem during the first half of the movie. It just felt like Snyder was showcasing important scenes from the comic without actually building up to them. It was very fan-servicey.

By the second half though I got over it and instead spent my time hating the soundtrack.

    Still loved it though.

  9. Caught this last night (just opened a week ago in Japan) and it's just terrible. The director should go back to school and learn how to make a coherent film with characters the audience will care about.

I didn't realize I was paying to see a big blue man hang out his limp dick for half of the movie....

  10. So you're saying that there was at least one aspect of the film that surprised you and you liked.
