Thread: Which Kevin Smith movie is your favorite?

  1. Seriously, all of you bashing Chasing Amy should see it again. Banky (sp?) is a fucking classic in it in multiple parts, and any way, the film is more of a drama than a comedy.

Mallrats is my favorite. Its as funny as Clerks, but is well paced, and it has Brody in it.

  2. Clerks: His first and among the funniest films he's ever done, it gets my vote mostly because it's easier to relate to the characters.
Mallrats: I don't know why this gets panned so hard, it's hot great but it's still pretty good.
Chasing Amy: Best story, Best character driven plot and just all arround his best film.
Dogma: Funniest of all the films.
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back: Love all the TV and movie referances and parody, but a little thin otherwise.

  3. Dogma is just about my favorite comedy ever... its ony behind Office Space...

I just don't get it. To me, that was one of the most boring, unfunny movies I've ever seen. Eh, different strokes an' all that, I guess.

Where's the poll option for "none of them"...?

Dolemite, the Bad-Ass King of all Pimps and Hustlers
Gymkata: I mean look at da lil playah woblin his way into our hearts in the sig awwwwwww

  5. J&SB SB was his worst flick to date. There was no real human element in it, and unlike his other flicks, there wasn't a lick of believability in it, or the characters.

  6. 1. Mallrats
    2. Clerks
    3. Dogma
    4. Chasing Amy

Jay and Silent Bob was awful and unfunny. It generally just referenced things that were funny in other movies/shows, without adding anything itself (including Smith's other films). It takes more than a potty mouth to be funny. I did like how it ended though (door-to-door forum rebuttals).

  7. I've only seen 2 of those, Clerks and Mallrats. But I would have to choose Clerks out of those 2, I really need to watch some of the other ones

FuryFox I like your dire wolf gif

  8. J&SBSB was purely fan service. It was funny, but in a different way to the other KS movies

Yes, that part alone was great, and I'm sure it's something we all here can relate to.

  10. Hehe. That was the highlight of the flick, well that, and the movie theatre scene with the epilogue, and the opening, which was great. Thank God for chapter skip on DVDs. "Ladies, ladies, ladies, Jay and Silent Bob are in da hizouse!"- yup, and you're being skipped right... to the part with the Scooby gang.
