Why don't any other current gen games have anywhere near this games' level of craft, design, and detail? I mean, Xbox in particular is capable of way more than GC technically, yet this game easily destroys anything it's offered so far graphics-wise. The visual excellence of this game really exposes how little developers are really taking advantage of current-gen consoles' capabilities.
Because, seriously, for the 100th time, the XBox is not as graphically capable as the GC. This is what happens when a game is tailor made to the GCs archetecture. Nothing I've played looks anything close to the Metroid Prime games. I'm including Half Life 2 ( on my system-60 fps w/ most detail levels at medium to high) and Doom 3 (although actually that would probably be subjective) and obviously Halo 2 (it really doesn't rate to be in this comparison).

which is something I've been saying for a long long time

and why I think the rush to new hardware is a waste

developers need to learn how to really use the hardware that's out there now, I don't think any dev has really taken the Xbox or GC to it's limits yet

plus Retro knows that Textures are more important than polys when making 3D images, something very few other devs seemed to have learned yet

I completely agree with you there. If the PS2 can still have great games graphically then what the hell could Xbox or GC do if given the time.

  7. Got the last suit of armor. *really* cool. Also, the third area boss was @#$*(@#$ awesome.

Some really expansive areas in this one too, pretty damn impressive looking. I like the areas overall, though I'm not fond of the second. water areas in Metroid are generally no fun - but the music is nice at least. Third area is just cool.

Home stretch now, just in time. Finished Halo 2, HL2, MGS3, and going to try to finish MP2 tonight. All just in time for WoW to come out tommorow

WoW's coming out tomorrow? EEek, I thought I'd have a month or two to upgrade my computer. Guess I'll stick to consoles for this gen.

I've been playing Echoes extensively for the past couple hours, and got past that part in the underwater dynamo in Torvus. Actually finished the 2nd world and returned the light of Torvus Bog and got the Dark Visor. One thing though.

Now that I've completed the 2nd area, am I supposed to search in Bog for the thirds elevator? I'll keep looking anyways, but I was hoping on seeing if that made any relevance.

  9. Finally got the powerbomb....the world really feels opened up now. This game rocks.

No, I'm just not so naive as to think foul language is a sign of poor vocabulary.
