Thread: Sega CD

Luckily I got an EWJ SE for $12 off eBay years ago. It's pretty good.

Also bought Heart of the Alien from People Play Games before i moved away. I wish there as a halfway decent retro game store around here =/

I like how people thought this stuff was expensive in 2004.

Some may say Hook, but I didn't like it.
I liked Adventures of Batman and Robin for the cutscenes
BC Racers, though no Mario Kart, was a decent kart racer

If you can handle the looong load times Secret of Monkey Island is fun
Road Rash CD is the only version to play the real music in game (as i recall, everyone else only had it in the menu's) and is thus my favorite.
I'm not into the FMV stuff too much, but Road Avenger, Double Switch, and Corpse Killer were a lot of fun to me.
That's all i can think of that hasn't been mentioned.
To be ultra cool, head over to http://www.gooddealgames.com and order the recently released stuff.
I also like that I'm still consistent 9 years later.

I still see sega cd games in the wild every now and then. They are usually sports games.

The craziest thing I ever found was a Lunar EB game guide out in bumblefuck nowhere at a salvation army.

The Silpheed hate in this thread displeases me. That kraftwerks fellow has the right idea.

  6. I bought an as is sega cd for $10 off of eBay about 6 years ago, still for a decent price on a working one >_<

Decent? I'd buy a known defective Sega CD for $10 any day.

  8. I wonder if I still have my broken CDX somewhere. I should try to fix it if I do, but I don't recall seeing it last time I went digging through old stuff.

I remember being so excited to be able to stick "CD levels and that Arcade feel" into a conversation. Johnny Turbo will never die!

  10. Which is better, Lords of Thunder SCD or PCECD?
