Saw it yesterday. Absolutely bloody fantastic!

Potential thrid movie scenario:

First Act: Peter and MJ are dating. Hobgoblin is created, Spider-man comes into contact with black costume.
Second Act: Hobgoblin gets thrashed with little effort, Spider-man figures out costume is symbiote. Possible Lizard setup for later film.
Third Act: Spidey rejects costume, thus, Venom! Gradually develops teeth as it feeds off the host.
The identities of Hobgoblin and Venom are interchangeable, but it pretty much comes down to one is John Jameson, and one is Harry Osbourne.

Plus that whole movie is just setting up Venom for the next. It wouldn't be a good idea to devote an entire movie to the setup of another (if it's not encapsulated in itself). A couple loose ends is fine, but your whole scenario would pretty much weaken the GG2 themed third movie.

I think GG2 would make an awesome story.

If this was a weekly TV series, I'd agree with you. But the movies only come one every few years, and GG has been done. Bring me Venom.

Of course, if there was more than one villian in the sequel, then I could deal with one of them being GG2. Having two villians in the sequel would work well, actually, because you wouldn't have to waste too much time on GG2's backstory, it's already been done. You could set up the other guy, and then get the story rolling.

plus a spideymobile that was an offroading all terrain vehicle because when your a super hero in any city theres tons of offroading needed to be done

I saw it a couple nights ago. Great fucking movie. Chabon is one of my favorite writers and he helped make this movie a lot better than the first (not that the first was bad).

My only complaint would be that Kirsten Dunst looks a little busted at times, and I'm not a big fan of hers in general, but still, easily one of the top 3 movies I've seen this year.
