Man, fuck Raimi, espically if the rumors are true about who the villain of the next movie will be. It'll be a damn shame if THAT rumor ends up being true, and they don't use someone like Venom for no reason at all.
In case anyone is wondering who the villain very well could possibly be in the 3rd movie....
Harry Osbourne is supposed to don his father's costume in the third movie, of the Green Goblin, which is a damn shame to recycle villains so early in the movie's timeline.

What? It's a Spiderman classic storyline for the son to take over. I'm disappointed they won't go in the Venom direction too, but it's not a huge gaping error. The movie will be shot very well.
The whole point of the son storyline and the first Green Goblins death was to set that up.

The only good that could come out of this is a better costume with a more traditional look. Other than that if he goes that way, while good for character development, shouldn't be a re-tread of the first. I would probably accept it if he were also dealing with Venom but blah.
Since this is Sam's last movie, perhaps another director will have a crack at it and the cast will definitely change since most are signed on for just one more after Spidey 2.
This could be good or bad, good since they can push the movie towards a Venom flick or other more fantastical ways or bad because of in-consistency of the actors and a bad change of director but I would look at it like I would see a comic book creative team change, just another look at it and further developing something on it's wheels.

Actually, no....
During the course of the film/book, Peter takes off his mask in front of just about everybody. Even Aunt May seems to know his secret somewhat, always saying what a hero Spider-Man is with a wink-wink tone to her comments. When Harry sees him - he flips out, finds his Dad's Green Goblin suit, and starts hearing voices in his head. When MJ sees him, she's pretty much all over his jock and won't let him run away from her.
Granted, the movie may slighly differ from the book somewhat, but generally these novels are pretty close to the source.
I just hope the movie doesn't have all the Obi-Wan-Like Uncle Ben moments that are peppered through the novelization.
