Well, the website noted that the reason for the shortage of SF figs was that a whole container of them got destroyed when heading overseas.
And while I see what you're saying, I'd like to show my support to the company, and I can't, because they don't have the figs I want at all. I've been to three different Gamestops, and every one has Sodom and Chun Li and maybe a Ryu.
10$ is a fine price when you realize figs of the same quality go for 6-7, and that it's just Gamestop's huge markup. I've even heard of these figs being sold at Hot Topic for 13-14 bucks

Hopefully the guy going on and on about it actually tried to get the manager to order another case, which believe it or not, actually works... When I worked at Media Play and a certain line of figures were selling well, but we weren't reordering because we still had a couple of a less popular figure in the line, I made it known to the ordering manager that another case would sell similarly well. A lot of stores won't reorder unless they run out, but if a Sodom's not selling that's no reason to not get another case. Ordering 2 cases and selling 22 figures in a month, but having 2 left over, is way more profitable than ordering one case and selling all 12 over 2 months, then being unable to reorder by the time the last one sells. Just ask for a manager and tell them this, or ask the employee to do so.
This is why the He-Man line, the new one that was out in the last year or so, ceased to be. Too many filler figs on the shelf, and nobody would order more.
I had the Gamestop guy look in the computer, and they currently had no orders in for it, no orders coming to the store, and he said they might not get more in for awhile since it's not a priority.
Which is why I would love if these things actually hit a toy store, like TRU, at least I know they'd get restocked once in awhile.
