Thread: OutRun 2 Comes Home

  1. I'm stoked, and only $40 to boot. Finally, I'll be able to get a taste of Scud Race and Daytona 2. No custom soundtracks is a bit of a bummer, I was hoping to rip the original OR songs to the HDD and play them, still LIVE PLAY!!!! makes up for that, especially given the remixes being there.

"On the musical side, in addition to the original's legendary trio of tunes and OutRun2's four additional tracks, Xbox owners will be able to unlock fantastic remixes of Splash Wave, Magical Sound Shower and Passing Breeze courtesy of Richard Jacques, a London-based musician who's worked on several Sega titles over the years. These Euro Remixes are a superb addition to the game, and mercifully, you'll also get instrumental versions of some of OutRun2's vocal tracks, "Prototype" and "Guitar" remixes of some of OutRun2's non-vocal tracks, and also the original three 1986 tunes. The game doesn't support custom soundtracks, but really, who needs it with this brilliant line-up of addictive, classic Sega beats."

Links to any of this information? I could search the boards for them, but I try to minimize my exposure to that site -- I swear every time I read some random forum thread there my IQ drops.

Feel sorry for the guy reading all those posts from people who pirated the game.

  6. Ah, I missed the blurb on the originals being in, good stuff, although custom soundtracks wouldn't hurt. I'll dig up the thread I was referring to, along with the poster's name. There we go - http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/gen...topic=16457410

  9. Jeremy, you mentioned RaH in the Gamefaqs thread.

Containing the arcade brilliance of OutRun2 and unlockable versions of the original OutRun and Daytona USA, Sega's racer is high on our must-have list. Sure, Splinter Cell 3 is delayed, but OutRun2 is almost as good. Plus, it has eight Ferraris for use on one massive course."
    (emphasis mine)

Am I the only one who missed that until now? Is this even believable, considering that they got the number of Ferraris in the game wrong (there are twelve, not eight)? All I know is that I have not unlocked it yet, and I am 7 missions away from finishing the game.

And if somehow Daytona USA is playable online... hahaha christ.

Bizarro stat that I would have never believed if you told me this six months ago: Outrun 2 takes longer to finish than Fable.
