They didn't have a "booth" per se...they were working together with the folks from GameDaily in one of the meeting rooms on the second floor.

  2. Affirmative. We spent our eves in the hotel room, partly b/c of where we were at (miles from anything cool - if there is anything cool that's accessible to ppl who won't pay for cross-town cabs).
We went around and did a few odd things, but really our time would have been just as well spent either at the hotel or renting time at an internet cafe and maybe posting a few things. I'm guessing that if just one of us had brought a game system along then we all might have saved a few bucks from tooling around the city doing not much of anything.

But that Italian place we went to was damn tasty.

Renting time...at an internet cafe? I guess you don't get out much do ya? Travelling thousands of miles to end up doing something that's sociailly inhibitive doesn't really sound very exciting.

Further, sitting around playing games in a hotel after spending over 25+ hours playing games and walking around endlessly in the LACC is quite enough. (Not that I had any objections to do "some" gaming now and then when it got late).

Personally, I had a great time chilling with the TNL crew (note: meeting 88mph and Ninjas in person was especially cool) on the final day, and meeting a ton of new people at Ziff Davis and other industry members. It's good to branch out and get to know others when the opportunity arises.

Im hardly a Los Angeleno, but I believe this news. My friend just came from NJ for a few days and we had a great time. But yea, the signal:noise ratio is really bad here and you need someone who knows what's good and what's not to enjoy yourself.

    HOLLA!

    I believe this news.

Why the fuck would I want to travel 600 miles to do what I do at home?

I would have killed for some 'net access. There must have been a screw up w/my Nerd application b/c I've yet to be issued a laptop (let alone a Sidekick, Palm, pager, digital camera or phone/camera). Maybe not a cafe...but a LAN arcade woulda been cool.

Before I left I had room for my Xbox. My brother convinced me I didn't need to bring it. Every night we joked about how much of a favor he'd done for us, denying us some sweet Halo action. I did have room for all my crap coming back tho.
