suprising enough, seeing the touchpad while constantly using it isn't a problem. as for holding it, i wouldn't know since they're sorta nailed down to the kiosk.
Here's one of my concerns with the DS.. and I understand that it's not in totally finished state right now, so it may be impossible to answer.
But say you have a game, like Metroid, where you use the control pad with the left hand, and a stylus with the right. Is the machine going to be properly balanced and comfortable to use, since you're not holding it with your right hand in the traditional manner? Also, will it be difficult to keep the screen(s) at the proper viewing angle for maximum visibility?
It may be that no one knows, if all the demos are sturdily affixed to a base, so no retards can make off with them.

Saw Mario DS , Metroid DS , and MarioKart DS on G4 last night. Very impressive. It seems Nintendo again are being very conservative about the systems power. Even though it's hard to gage framerate through 24fps video, you can still get an idea of how well a game runs. These games were all blisteringly fast and buttery smooth with a lot of animation. I would guess they're all 60fps and they looked really clean.

Considering the wireless and wi-fi capabilities of the DS, does anyone else think this system is begging for a Smash Bros game of some sort?
DS to have wireless game-sharing functionality
Nintendo's portable will allow multiplayer sessions with only a single cartridge--and no wires.
During an interview with GameSpot, Nintendo researchers Takashi Tezuka and Hideki Konno revealed that the DS will have a wireless version of the Game Boy Advance's game-sharing ability.
With the original Nintendo portable, several titles, most prominently the Mario Advance series, allowed a group of GBAs to play a multiplayer game off of a single cartridge. The various portables without the cartridge would download a limited version or single map via GBA connectors.
While demonstrating Metroid Prime: Hunters to GameSpot editors, Tezuka and Konno discussed how the DS would have similar functionality--but without any pesky wires. "If you had four people but only one had the game, that person could transmit the game to all the others present for a four-person match," said Tezuka.

well, the system could totally handle it, although i don't know how it would turn out with such a small screen. then again, suprisingly enough, when they use both screens to make one big picture, the big black chunk inbetween doesn't really affect the picture that much. you can barely notice it. so who knows. but yeah, im sure if they can pull it off, it'll totally be worth their time and effort when the insant amount of money starts coming in.Originally Posted by Wilykat

Yep. They're guilty of stealing their own ideas.![]()
I love it. The original Game and Watch design was fantastic, and it's logical that they'd use a near-identical design for the DS, at least for the prototype design if nothing else.
