I don't mind a new system every 5 years. This'll be like the 3rd in 3 years.

Three?! Sega was at one point simultaneously pushing Genesis, Game Gear, Sega CD, 32X, 32X CD, Pico, arcade platforms (Model 1, System 32, etc) and had Saturn on the horizon. Nintendo's done 3 platforms before, usually in generation shifts granted but there've also been "other" format experiments like Famicom Disc, Virtual Boy, BS-X, 64DD or Pokemon Mini.Originally Posted by dog$
From what I understand, Nintendo DS development is being increased internally at the expense of GameBoy Advance though. This might not be the 'next GameBoy" but it seems to be getting it's resources. :/
I agree. This suxxors.Originally Posted by Mzo

oh, and it seems like they might end up sticking with the DS name.According to Quiter, Square-Enix is to have a title ready for Nintendo DS launch. According to the news, the title will be shown at Nintendo's press conference official unveiling of NDS, and will also be playable at Nintendo's booth.
that's the logo they're using as of now.
Excellent, looks like it's definetly vertical if the O in Nintendo and its shadow are any indication.Originally Posted by Johnny Nighttrain

there it is. im a bit disapointed by the design. i was hoping for something a bit more sleeker, and will, something that just looked cooler.
anyways, seems like Mario Kart is on the system, and apparently it's slightly more powerful than the N64.
Hey, the shoulder buttons are on the face, that's cool. I thought it was said the two screens could be alligned to make one giant screen, guess that's not happening.

I see nothing that lives up to the hype nor makes me recant my previous bitterness and overall meh.
4 face buttons, YAY!
It's extremely old school in design. The black background on both screens is an extremely good idea; but the large gap between the screens is horrible, it kills all dreams of vertical shooters or large screen games. Here's hoping that you can slide the screens together. And so I guess from the looks of things the bottom screen is the touch screen.
