  1. SEGA announces E3 line-up.

The current list of titles to be displayed is as follows, although we know that Sega has a few more surprises left to announce:

    PlayStation 2
    # Astro Boy
    # Blood Will Tell
    # ESPN College Hoops 2005
    # ESPN NBA 2005
    # ESPN NFL 2005
    # ESPN NHL 2005
    # Headhunter: Redemption
    # Sega SuperStars
    # Virtua Quest

    GameCube
    # Amazing Island
    # Puyo Pop Fever
    # Virtua Quest

    Game Boy Advance
    # Astro Boy: Omega Factor

    Xbox
    # ESPN College Hoops 2005
    # ESPN NBA 2005
    # ESPN NFL 2005
    # ESPN NHL 2005
    # Headhunter: Redemption
    # Otogi 2
    # SpikeOut Battle Street

Otogi 2 is From Software's sequel to the original Xbox action hit, its name compressed slightly in comparison to the preposterously long Japanese title. It features similar extensively destructible environments inspired by the art of medieval Japan, but the cast of playable characters expands to five distinctly different heroes.

SpikeOut Battle Street is the long-awaited console conversion of the famous AM2 3D brawler. In the arcades it ran on the Model 3 board -- the home version was originally developed for the Dreamcast, put on hold, and resurrected for the Xbox by Amusement Vision. The Xbox Live mode lets multiple players fight together, and also download various bits of extra content.

Amazing Island is the game known in Japan as "Island of Kaiju," a monster training and battling game reminiscent of Monster Rancher. Like Taito's Magic Pengel, the game also offers considerable leeway for designing the look and capabilities of your own fighting monster.

Virtua Quest, finally, is AM2's fighting RPG, called "Virtua Fighter Cyber Generation" upon its announcement in Japan.

Sega's announcement today offered no release dates for the newly-released titles on its E3 list, but we'll try and gather more details in advance of their showing next week. Look forward to it.
    Otogi 2? Oh fuck yeah..
    Time for a change

  3. Same here, though I wonder what Blood Will Tell and Sega Superstars are.

  4. Virtua Street, Headhunter: Redemption and SpikeOut, YAY.

  5. Uh, the sports games sound really cool this year. Other than that the rest just makes me hope they really are holding back their best stuff for a new system or whatever. Spike Out is totally overrated. It's a solid 3D beat 'em up in the vein of a more serious Dynamite Cop, but nothing worth waiting 5 years for unless it's gotten a major facelift.

  6. I am so keen on spikeout, it better support live.
"Your soul better belong to Jesus, mmm-mmmmm..... cause your ass belongs to me!"

  7. That's a pretty disappointing list...

Hope the surprise announcements fare better.

    Reading is good!

  8. No Sega Rally 3? Asshats...

I thought Puyo Pop was going to be multiplatform. Looks like no online version for XBox or PS2 now.
Taking it one day at a time.

  10. It IS though. It's on Dreamcast, and looks nice.
