  2. Oh wow, a new Nintendo system and it will have a Mario Kart, a Mario platformer and a watered down version of Prime. I am so excited. Those pixely N64 quality graphics have truly owned all the haters.

Excuse me but having bought an SP barely a year ago, i'm kind of tired of Nintendo constantly 'upgrading' their handheld line. To see an original Mario game on DS, something that the GBA never got is particularly galling.

  3. Holy fuck.

    Zelda looks amazing.

Metroid DS does look cool, but I read an article on IGN that said it's basically a handheld version of MP 2 Echo's multiplayer. Can anyone else confirm this? I'll be disappointed if there isn't a strong focus on the single player story as well.

Not to mention viewtiful joe, Dynasty Warriors, a new Crystal Chronicles game, bomberman, touch screen and voice input.

So when it got ports, you were unhappy. When it gets new Marios, you're still unhappy. There aren't any other feasible options for a Mario game. New or existing.

  6. there's a nice article on the press conference here.
And two more bombs - here's the first one. Confirmation that Nintendo is working on a NEW Home SYSTEM... My hair is tingling. A new way of playing games. Here we go... But - no ultra-dramatic unveiling. Just a "trust us" and some information that game development is underway. Nintendo refuses to give tech specs, and instead say that it doesn't really matter. Like the DS, it will be a new way of playing games.
    leet.

and adian, what would you have preferred? nintendo had to do something, what with the psp coming out so soon. at least the jump from sp to ds is much more impressive than the last upgrade. i'll be buying it for the multiplayer aspect alone.

When I buy a system I expect it to last longer than the Dreamcast. GBA development is obviously being phased out despite the SP still being fairly new. It's like Nintendo want you to fork out another $150~ every 18 months for their new model.

    No thanks.

    MVS knows what's up.

I think Sega might still go for a Jet Set Radio 3. Well, I pray at least. Its the best post-1998 series to come out.
