OK, ok. Not like I think TM can be compared in any way to a Metal Gear game. Just a case of Joe Schmoe saying maybe I'll buy an apple or maybe I'll buy an orange. Anyways point made.![]()
I've played TM, but not online. I don't think it's that bad. My only complaint is that it seems a little too fast.

"Also, I'm no master strategist, but I've only died ONCE in 5 hours on MGA"
Don't you think that's a problem though? I'm actually kind of interested in this game now. A TINY bit.
Haha. Yeah, now it goes from "Oh no, it has cheap deaths/too much frustration" to "Oh no, it sounds...too easy?"Originally Posted by Joust Williams

Gonna buy Ac!d tonight at Walmart after work. Can't wait. How does the story stack up? Not expecting MGS1 claiber story but is it at least edge of your seat/decent surprises?
I also bought Lumines today and this sucker is gonna be competing for sure.
Wow, started playing this last night. The story is... out there. And, I'd like it a lot better if it was voice acted. Sometimes, and especially in the beginning, I think there is a dis-proportionate amount of story to gameplay and I find myself almost wanting to skip the story. Of course, now that I'm about a third of the way through, I'm glad I didn't, because the story IS pretty cool. Just, different.
I die a lot in this game too, so Chux is sure to rape me when we play Link Battle mode. Too bad it doesn't let you trade cards.
Anyone else play this? The thread was buried pretty deep.
Metal Gear Acid 2 shots
I'm liking the whole cel-shaded thing.
Wow, this might be my favourite Metal Gear ever. Not because it's the most amazing game ever made, but because for whatever reason, regular MGS games bore the heck out of me (I got like 2 hours into MGS3 and haven't picked it up since).
The MGS gameplay seems to work better as a turn-based strategy game for me. And while the card thing is kind of weird, it works once you get it dialed. The story is loopy, but somehow that makes it easier for me to accept than something that tries to be all Tom Clancy then hits you with Psycho Mantis and a fat guy on rollerskates with bombs strapped to his chest.
But the best thing about this? NO DAMN CODEC CONVERSATIONS! I mean, okay, there's a guy you talk to on it at the beginning of the level who tells you what to do, but that's it. He only tells you once, not seven different ways, he doesn't hit on you, he doesn't tell you retarded details about every Godzilla movie ever made while you're getting shot, and so far, the words "love on the battlefield" have not come up once yet. But I saw a chick at the beginning, so there's still time.
Anyway, good game so far, not the best thing ever, but a worthy diversion if you go in expecting a strategy game. Despite the card theme, this isn't Magic:the Gathering or Yu Gi Oh or anything. 7.5/10, 8/10 if Metal Gear makes you woody.
