Thread: E3 Bemani thread (DDR and Karaoke Revolution)

  1. "Friends In Low Places" in Karaoke Vol 2? HELL YEAH!

I still think they need to work out an add-on system where you can buy cheap song discs for hundreds of song choices since karaoke really needs that, but I'm still psyched.

If you want EyeToy para, go play Groove. It's esentially that. What they're doing with DDRExtreme USA and the Eyetoy is ripping off an obscure Korean dance game, EZ2 Dancer. EZ2Dancer used the 4 arrows like DDR, but had diagonal arrows that were set to hand sensors. I played it once while in Korea Town, LA.

It was awful. Brutally awful. I've played way too many dancing games and this is hands down the worst. It's just completely unnatural in execution.

Uhg..THey should just focus on music and not on stupid features that no one will use.
    Play Guitar Hero //

  3. EyeToy... eew...
Just as long as they keep the normal interface and such available, I'll be happy to skip over this.

...and that realistic-looking Emi in Ultramix 2 looks... creepy.
    ...yikes...

Despite any of this, I know I'm buying this shit.
...though, import Extreme is looking more and more tempting every day...

Seriously, if you like DDR and you have the money, buy it anyway. Whether or not US Extreme turns out to be a good game, it appears that it is not intended to be a replica or replacement for Japanese Extreme so it won't be like having the same game twice. At 110 songs (pretty much all of them fun) and oodles of oni and non-stop courses I can't recommend Japanese Extreeme enough. Best home DDR yet.

I have high hopes for US Extreme and I will be buying it day one, but I'll be holding on to my Japanese copy just the same.

I'm guessing you didn't see the US Extreme screens yet. The interface, layout, and color scheme doesn't resemble any previous DDR in the slightest.

Your right, it looks exactly like Step'n Music

  6. in regards to those screens...

  7. The second set of screens is actually KCET (or whoever made JP Extreme), not KoA.

  8. KCET intentionally wants US Extreme to look like crap. they should've stuck with the Jap Extreme look.

Taiko Drum Master should be off the fucking rack. it's not Bemani, but it's musical and sounds like tons of fun. go to hell Donkey Konga!
