Alex? ROSE?!?! Suddely I have interest in this game. Rose was the shit in SFA/Z, thank god Capcom is going to do something with her again.

There's just one more thing I need to hear. I need to hear that Capcom is going to toss in a few non-fighting game characters, and bring back somebody they already have finished sprites for. I just need to hear the name "Jill Valentine," and all will be right with this game.

I do have something to add, actually;

I'm just looking at the patterns here. The theme of this game is clearly, that they are praising their fighting franchises, that's why the characters are lumped into certain categories/isms. (SF3, SFZ, VAMPIRE, RED EARTH)

That's also why characters will have STATIC grooves that fit the game that they come from.

It seems like if they were shooting for something as ambitious as you guys are hoping for, they would work on the game from the ground up, and not rehash half of the sprites.

I don't even believe the Warzard sprites are new. We just haven't seen them yet because Red Earth/Warzard hasn't been released stateside.

The only new character so far is Ingrid, so the most realistic hidden characters are gonna be DD or someone else from CFAS.

I'll give you that Dante has perhaps the best chance of making it out of anyone, simply because Capcom can't whore him out in games enough. But even THAT is about as remote of a possibility as I can imagine.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be elated if someone like VJ appeared in the game. I'm just saying that I don't think it will never happen. The way I look at it, it's better not to expect or hope for it, and be pleasantly surprised, than to be disappointed when Capcom releases another patched together game with a somewhat uninspired cast.

If they did release characters from other genres, what grooves would they fit into? Where would they go. Once again, the grooves/isms are static for whatever game the character comes from.

Part of the reason for this is that it's easier to test the characters and there is less of a chance that there will be exploitable loopholes, so the programming end of the game is a great deal easier.

I'm not being a jerk about this, I'm just being realistic. I'm not trying to PWN anyone either, that's not my goal, I just don't want to see you guys get your hopes up and get TRULY 'PWNED' by Capcom.

I always loved it when Capcom would include the occasional obscure character or character from a game of a totally different genre in their fighting games. I'd like to se more of that, as my list shows.
