Thread: Capcom Fighting Jam

  1. Oh yeah, I'll be getting this, definitely...and plus we get it 2 weeks before Japan? Oh yeah.

Sakura is different enough to warrant being there. Hell, Ken and Ryu, and Akuma are pretty damn different imo... if anything leave out Akuma or Ryu.

Plays well, looks like ass, and costs $30?

I'm sure it plays well, it was made by competent fighting game designers.

I'm sure it looks like ass, but at least it looks like ass from 2001 instead of ass from 1996.

And $30 sounds pretty good to me.

  4. That's what happened with SF3.

"NO RYU AND KEN? OH NOEEEEESS!"

I think it was Gamefan where right after SFIII came out people wrote in and bitched about how Ryu and Ken were in there, so other players could just walk up and use them to trash others who hadn't learned the new characters yet. People will complain either way.

  6. I have no problem with akuma being left out, or saks. WTF has sak's playstyle been thats so revolutionary in any of the games where shes actually played? Span standing roundhouse -> V-Ism bullshit combo? I'll pass. Ken is oft extremely different in playstyle from ryu, esp if you threw in say, 3s ken as opposed to ST ryu. 3s chars, throwing fireballs are worthless, where fireballs ARE ST. So bam, you can two completely different chars (Seriously, thier playstyle would be so dramatically different...). I think I enjoy the ryu ken matchup more than any other matchup in any other game, sorta gives me a nostalgia vibe.

The latest issue of EGM has Fighting Jam listed in their roundup of online games. And yes, it will be Xbox Live compatible.

If Fighting Jam is as good as people have been saying, then I'll have three fighting games to play on Live (the other two being Guilty Gear and SFAC).

1UP talks more about the background of the game, and even says PYRON IS UNLOCKABLE! they both say the same thing too... the roster should've included more characters per team, but at the same time, what you get is still pretty good.

    Man, that's fucking awesome.

But I don't think they should bitch about the roster just yet if there are hidden characters.

  10. There are only two hidden characters, Pyron and Akuma.

It's still a pretty diverse roster, tho, so I'm not complaining. I can't wait to start beating people up with a Guile + Urien team.
