The long haul is finally over

Tommorow is my last day in highschool and I could not be happier. Looking back on the years there was a few good memories and a hell of a lot of bad ones. I'm going into the Marines in a few weeks, funny how your life takes a giant turn all of a sudden once you get around 18. How did everyone else regard highschool? Good? Bad? Boring? Overall it sucked completely for me but I'm happy I made it through.

congrats. highschool always gets taken for granted, but most realize it was actually a really great time in their life. Was for me anyway.

You get some good loot for graduating yet?

Your HS gets out early. HS was alright for me, Senior year was a lot of fun but I was happy to leave. True story- I spent almost all of my grad money on beer and Dreamcast stuff the first semester (I bought a lot of shit come to think of it).

I loved HS, I met a great gal, had some great friends, and have lots of memories from it.

Lucky, I have two years left...

Last year was pretty shoddy for me, but I'm really enjoying it right now. I'm sure I'll despise Junior year when I'll actually have to do some work, but for now it's been a pretty good time. In all honesty, I don't hate school too much, I actually look forward to it by the end of summer in most cases. :shrug:

That's about how I felt, too. Lots of great friends and fun, but real life is far better than high school.

Just wait till your working a hellish job, bills, debt, 401ks, taxes, getting laid off, working loooong hours to meet deadlines. You'll miss high school, mark my words.

(but don't get me wrong, overall real life is far better. You've just gotta work a hell of a lot harder to reap the rewards).

There was some good times in school, that's a given, but it felt like a waste of my life, energy, and talent. I learned hardly anything (I took it upon my own to educate myself) and slept through all my classes. I didn't have much friends in my new school this year because I really don't like anybody (bunch of rich snobs). Anyways, I got a few weeks to chill and it's off to boot-camp :P

And I'm only a sophomore so I got a ways to go. High school is sick though.
