Don't they have "tooneys" too? Or some other coin was nicknamed that or something?

Twonie. Yes. You'll note Brisco has said nothing.

Probably died of shame. Damned Canuck.

No, our money is called money.

    I've been at work.

It's called a twoonie. That's a two dollar coin. A loonie is a one dollar coin. It's named after a bird.

  6. A loonie and a twoonie? Haha! No wonder we make fun of Canada!

Stupid question here, but surely Looney Tunes are prevalent in Canada? That's why I find the whole Loonie and Twoonie so funny. Well, amusing I guess.

  8. It's not just called a loonie because it has that bird on it. When the coin was introduced, nobody liked the idea of $1 coins, so they made fun of it. They still use the name, even though most people realize now that coins are a lot more convenient than $1 bills.

When the US finally gets around to ditching George (properly, not like the half-assed Saskatchewanea attempt a couple years ago), you guys will think of something equally silly.

Canadians are just as big Looney Toons fans as anybody else. That's probably where some of the collective inspiration came from.

  9. You're all crazy. I don't use "dollars" and "coins" for my purchases. Salt. It's the currency of tomorrow (and yesterday), today!
