I've tried a lot of these 'fixes' being posted throughout the web for the black screen to desktop crap.

If you run in windowed mode (go to the shortcut path and change fullscreen to 0) then it will tell you the error. Mine says something about queries not allowed or something. I dunno what is going on.

I hope so too. What kind of ATI card are you running? 9700's and 9800's work very well with this game from my experience.

It's a X300 with 128mb, which should be plenty to get the game to run at its lowest settings at least. When I try both SP and MP modes it gets to the "Starting Server" message, and it just freezes. I've never had this kind of problem running a full game, let alone a demo. This really surprises me considering how large of a demo release this is. I've all but given up on the demo, and I'm going to wait until I hear impressions of people running the game on my card before I pick up the full game, this has me worried.

Okay, I got it to work. I'm running on an X300 (shitty, I know) but even with low settings it's pretty fun.

I've only played offline, briefly, but it's awesome so far.

Ran fine, too. Athlon XP 3200, Radeon 9800 Pro. Gotta get more ram, though.

Your the man. I tryed turning off my firewall yesterday, but apparently I didn't do it the right way, tryed again when you mentioned this, and it worked like a charm. I can run the game at medium with terrain on high without a problem.

Perhaps you should read the spec sheet. the demo only runs on certain lines of graphics cards. like... X600 you should be good, maybe even X500 but X300, not a chance!

Haha, I learned how to fly the heli after a couple of tries, I'm still working on how to fly the jets, it's truly an experience to behold.
