Any opinions on the changes? I'm off to download it right now.
Patching is finished, I'll be playing for most of the night, so catch me in Ventrilo if you'd like to join up.

Well, after installing the incremental patch, the game now crashes on me every time I try to boot it up (other people have reported the same problem), so I just downloaded and installed the latest nVidia drivers and I'm downloading the full 1.2 patch as I type this.Originally Posted by Changeling

Strange, I have no problems while playing with the new patch. Hope you figure things out.Originally Posted by wEEman33
Ok, after updating my drivers and downloading/installing the full 1.2 patch (which weighs in at a monstrous 357 MB) things seem to be working again. I'll be on tonight from 10-12 PM EST.Originally Posted by ElCapitan
A+ on the patch. My game runs tons better. Vastly improved framerate - even in Special Forces, and that = better aiming accuracy = way better game.
-The support class' improved accuracy makes them a beast now and you see alot of people using them.
-On every server I played on, teamkills for mines was turned off which makes Destro one happy camper. Now i can play engie 24/7.
-Choppers go down fast. Pilots are going to have to step their game up.
-Once i decided to look for it, I blew up the enemy UAV. FUN!
-And the capper - the tip top of the heap: I wasn't noob toobed once on Karkand AKA noob toob city. In fact, 2 noob toobers actually missed me before i shotguned them in the face. So yea, the potentially game breaking noob toobs are nerfed. Thank the heavens!
See you on the battlefield.

My game runs like crap now. This makes me a very sad panda, but I guess I'll just have to play with what i've got, even if it's pure crap.
I thought about you and Cobra this morning, actually. I played Karkand first , so naturally, I got out the noob tube and headed off the hill(American). First guy I ran into I instinctively jumped and tried to fire my tube. I got dropped like a fly and fucking loved it!!! This patch truly changed the feel of the game and I couldn't be happier. I am glad I got all the support class weapon unlocks now even more than before. There are alot more support guys out there, so we don't have to worry about running out of ammo too much nowOriginally Posted by Destro777

I shot down the UAV too. It was one of the first things I wanted to do. I like that addition as well.
Choppers definitely go down way faster than before with the anti-air missles. I played Wake Island and had a blast shooting down choppers. Couldn't shoot down the planes, though.
Special Forces does indeed run better even though there were only 25 servers this morning. I know thats due to servers not being changed yet, but still, The game is dead. I only played Ghost Town though, so I don't know how some of the more troublesome maps run. I'll find out tonight, though.
I am very very happy with the patch and can't wait to give the game some real time this weekend. Bring on the European maps!!!
One question, have you or anyone else tried the new unlockable weapons? The anti-tankers and the sniper classes got new toys and I'm dying to hear if the tanker gun is any good or not.
Just read on the Planetbattlefield Forum that the European Forces is coming out on Feb 21st!!!!! YES!!!!! Only got a week to go!![]()

Im not sure how I feel about the changes. It seems like they really capitulated to forum crybabies. Which is probably the worst thing you can do. Making support's weapon ultra-uber is ridiculous and totally ruins the risk/reward. I have played support mildly, and I was able to do well with the weapon, I just had to go and fight up close - it was positively deadly at that range and the assault and medics were dropping like flies. If the weapon is now accurate at longer ranges too whats the point of picking other classes? Nerfing the noob tube was necessary but it feels like they just have made it useless, which is of course not the point. I think air was too powerful before but now it looks like AA might be too powerful.
The game does indeed run better on my PC and I am able to set everything to High whereas before it was a mix of Medium and High. This is good. And Im not sure the name bug was fixed, completely. Im still skeptical overall.

I dont think the support gun is ultra powerful now, its just more accurate. Its still very hard to hit people running around. The fixes will make more people want to play as support, which was a dying class in the past 2 months. Thats the whole point of the patch i think. All of the classes are now far more balanced. Last week the game was 90% people playing assault class only using noob tubes in every single game. Incredibly lame. The game was turning into a deathmatch. Now you are seeing every class, which greatly enhances teamwork.Originally Posted by diffusionx
The noob tube according to DICE was originally intended to be used only against vehicles like the buggies and humvees. They never expected it to be used against infantry the way it panned out. So i wouldnt call it useless, just more of how they originally wanted it to be used.
I heard the new anti tank unlock wasnt that great, but id like to try it myself first.
