Same universe, yes, as they all take place on Earth or the immidiate vicinity thereof, but there are hardly any references made to any past Rangers series (sans Dino Thunder) like the first three seasons.

    2. What happened to Zordon, Alpha, Billy, Zedd, etc.? Especially Zedd, since I always liked him.
Zordon died; in the energy blast that resulted, both Rita and Zedd were turned into humans with sunny dispositions, Alpha shut down, and Billy decided to stay on Aquitarius to live with the (alien) love of his life.

  2. It's definitely the same universe, and in Dino Thunder there are a LOT of references to the old stuff. I miss Zedd also, but I don't miss the original cast AT ALL.

I only liked Tommy and Jason. Alpha 5 and his "Ayyiyiyiyiiiiii!!!" got old around episode 2, Zordon looked really fuckin' stupid (stupider in the Power Rangers movie though), Ernie from the juice bar was a douche, and Bulk and Skull didn't get cool until Zeo Rangers. Also, the replacement rangers are the worst humans ever, with the possible exception of Adam (Aisha, Rocky, Kat, and that piece of shit little boy can all go straight to hell though!)

I think that Dino Thunder owns every other PR show, 5 times over. Also, it ties in directly with the previous season, Ninja Storm (the 2nd best season in PR history).

I miss Zedd, also. I remember after seeing the MMPR movie in the theater (on opening day, no less), and seeing his brand new, super-cool "Hollywood" outfit, I thought that maybe we'd start seeing that same getup in the TV program. No such luck.

But, I did love Zedd. He is the single best Power Rangers villian. He even tops King Mondo, and as much as I do love the Machine Empire, Zedd just hands them their asses.

That site is pretty damn smooth, Korly. Thanks for sharing. I don't, however, feel like digging at the present time, so if you wouldn't mind relating just how the two seasons tie in together, I'd appreciate it.

  4. I just bought my first ever Megazord (teehee!)! The new Dino Thunder Blizzard Force Megazord.

It's HOT! Much cooler than the Dino Thunderzord, though I do, in fact, like the Thunderzord.

The Blizzard Ptera Zord looks the same, and it functions the same, too, but it has a paint job with green replacing all of the yellowness of the original. The Blizzard Tricera Zord (which is actually no long a Triceratops, but a Anchiceratops) has undergone some major changes, with an near entire resculpt! It is now more of a blue-gray with shorter red horns and a much more broad shield plate. Also, you can detatch the head of the dinosuar (turning it into a shield) to reveal an actual hand! The Blizzard Tyrano Zord (which is no longer a T-Rex, but an Allosaurus) has undergone the most significant change, turning from red to blue, recieving a neck-crest of red, and a full head resculpt. I can't comment on the body and whether it has been resculpted, as I don't own the Tunderzord and cannot do an exhaustive comparison. Also, you can detach the tail/drill portion of the Tyrano Zord, revealing another hand and creating a pretty cool sword for the super-robot in the process.

  5. Ninja Storm and Dino Thunder are related in several ways:

Connors cousin went to the Wind Ninja academy (his twin actually. In fact, it was the same actor. He can be seen joining the school in the final episode of Ninja Storm). He mentions this during the episode of DT "Legacy of Power"

When Elsa talks about bringing the first monster to attack Reefside, she says "Those idiots will think Lothor has returned!" or something like that. (Lothor was the main baddie of NS)

The actress who plays Cassidy in DT is the same actress that played one of the main baddies in NS.

And there are others too, but none that really come to mind right now.

Well, I've never seen past ep 3, and when I had actually been in a possition to catch a new ep on Jetix at 8:30am, it was a rerun of the first ep. :/

However, I can certainly check the DVD for the ending of Ninja Storm to compare faces. I knew one of the late students looked familiar. I'll have to check it out.

    I know who Lothor was.

Also, I remember that part in the episode. Incedentally, Elsa and the Principal are the same woman, correct?

The actress who plays Cassidy in DT is the same actress that played one of the main baddies in NS.
HA! You're right! Capri was her name? I think.

You see, when you said that Ninja Storm and Dino Thunder have a lot to do with one another, I thought you meant concerning continuity, like the island research facility was blown up by Lothor or something like that.

And to this day, everytime I watch an ep of Ninja Storm, I think of SNL.

    That the $40 one?

  8. Yes, the fourty dollar, electronic drill-spinning-action one. Again, it isn't the normal Dino Thunderzord (which I have seen all over the place), but the new Blizzard Force Megazord (of which I have only ever seen one of; the very one I currently own ).

It is the most sexy Megazord to date.

Here's a pic of the box:

and a pic of the actual fig in Megazord mode:

This thing makes me EXTREMELY excited to see it in action in the show.

  9. NEW INFO concerning the Blizzard Force. First of all, it disappoints me to say that it will probably NOT be featured in the US airing of Power Rangers Dino Thunder.

From what I understand this particular Megazord (named Bakurenoh in the JP series) is very seldomly featured in the the Abaranger (JP Dino Thunder) series (aprox one episode); however, it is featured predominantly in the Abaranger movie. Unfortunately, the US rights were only secured for the TV production, and not the movie, so they have EXTREMELY limited footage to work with. Since a lot of the giant robot footage is in CG, though, something may be worked out. *hopeful*

Also, this Megazord is an evil Megazord. It is Mesogog's, and is composed of only TWO Blizzard Force Zords, not three, Arctic Tyrannozord and the Arctic Tricerazord ("Blizzard" was chosen over "Arctic" as the US moniker), the Blizzard Ptera Zord is an extra included in the US release of the toy.

Both the Arctic Tyrannozord and the Arctic Tricerazord (which are modeled after a Carnotaurus and a Chasmosaurus, respectively) are viewable at THIS PAGE at the very bottom. There is also a small picture of the Megazord standing alongside the Dino Thunderzord.

  10. OH!

It's from Abaranger Deluxe: Abare Summer. I know I've seen it somewhere.
