  1. Well, I doubt the "Rare" DK is the sole creation of Rareware. Nintendo probably had quite a bit to say concerning what he looked like.

    Also, he's looked this way ever since Country. Because Country was supposed to be his big update, he's kept the look into present day. Maybe they're going to re-envision the character some day, but I doubt it'll be anytime soon. He's the DK that people recognise.

    And like I said before, I like him.

    It pisses me off like no other. Especially since the + levels are entirely new levels, and there's a new boss at the end after you beat them all. So essentially the whole game is the original and plus levels, so it is in fact pretty big, and quite challenging.

    LOL! What a miserable review. If I was Nintendo, I'd write them a harsh letter.

    Oh, I think I see the problem now.

    And for those who are dumb like I was, wondering why I'm missing the high score by like 6000 points... the remaining time from the 1st half of a stage carries over, but is lost when you continue. So you pretty much have to do both parts in one run for a high score.

    Just finished world 3 with all stars =D I'm only playing about an hour a day during my lunch break at work; this should last me a while.

    I'd just assumed other had the same problem, since people were telling me it's hard to get stars by World 3... as soon as I realized what I was doing wrong, I tore through them and the 1st stage of World 4.

  6. I'm just messing with you. It took me a few levels to realize it, too.

    Also, the hammer gives a huge point bonus for each monster you destroy over one. So, if it's possible, move all of the beasties to one area and take them all out with the hammer for ridiculous amounts of pointage.

    I mean really... what's the difference? A cow lick-hairstyle and sans pig nostrils?

    I just dislike the textures they use on his model, if they used more unnatural cartoony flat colours/textures he'd look way cooler. The character models in DK King of Swing kick arse.

    I just finished stage 4-3 with a star this morning. I think there was some easy way to do the first part quickly and with all the gifts that I overlooked, because what I ended up doing seems needlessly complicated.

  9. Wow, I'm a bit surprised that MvDK is so well received here. With all the reviews I've been reading and what I've seen in previews, I thought Nintendo was releasing an updated lackluster rehash of DK94. Glad to know that I'm wrong.

    Yup, I'm buying this now.
