The DK in DK64 was the same DK as in all the Countries. Cranky was his grandfather, and Cranky was also the "original" DK who fought Jump Man, and this was evidenced in some of the lines the character spoke.
For this reason, Frog has a problem with the DK in MvDK because it's not the right Kong, but I'd say since this type of behavior is "in his blood," this Kong is perfectly acceptabe.

I can't get a star in level 2-6... and I'm missing it by a lot, too. Am I missing something, here?
EDIT: NEVERMIND, I DID IT. I don't need you losers' help anyway.
OK! Now I broke the high score in the 2nd DK fight, and I'm not getting a star for it. WTF?
EDIT2: OH, you have to beat the toy level AND the DK level at once to get a star in it. N/m again.

Yeah, I was defending DK64 in another thread and I got mixed up and thought this thread was that one I think.
I'm working on the + levels now. Honestly I find them more fun then the originals. I've tried a few of the Experts I've unlocked as well... those are insanely hard.

Wait, am I missing something? I starred all 48 of the normal levels, and it opened 6 worlds of + levels. How do you get the Expert levels?
Exit back to the main menu, there's a selection ther for expert levels.

This game is indeed great stuff, classic nintendo.
And the Game Informer review is so damn lame. She says its too short and too easy, and then mentions that there is supposed to be a lot of unlockables but that she is not the kind of girl that goes back and tries to unlock everything. So then she has no idea how long the game ACTUALLY is!
She played the first set worlds and calls it done and says its short. LAME! Why is it that a lot of magazine reviewers complete ignore other avenues of replayability? Such things like score, which is more eye of the beholder I suppose. But not playing batches of extra levels and claiming to be short is maddness.
And I totally agree with Frogacuda on them using the Rare DK. Nintendo made their own damn DK why not just use that? They totally catered to Rares design with this game. Not that the game does not look great, I just dislike that style DK. Does not hurt the game really though. Just disapointing.
