Players looking to get a taste of Codemasters’ upcoming real-time strategy game, Perimeter, can now download a new multiplayer demo, announced today. Contents include two playable maps supporting up to four-players over a local area network or online play. A tutorial is also included, giving players the opportunity to practice and hone their skills before engaging the competition.

The story is based around several civilizations, forced to abandon the Earth due to its decomposing state. Fate leads them to the only suitable planet to colonize, leading to a contest of survival. In addition to conventional RTS tactics, player can also use terraforming and nanomorph technologies to acquire resources and reinforce their defenses, respectively.

Perimeter was developed by a collaborated effort between 1C Company and KD-Lab. The game captured the attention of several expos, receiving such rewards as “Best PC Game” and “Best Game Design” at the Russian Game Developers conference earlier this year.
