Don't forget Super Smash brothers, Reclying all the greatest in video game characters.
Add Odama to that list.
However, I don't see the point of yet another Mario Party, Mario Golf, Mario Kart (with 2 screens OMG), Mario Tennis, Mario Vs. Donkey Kong, Mario 64x2x128xpi or whatever, Mario Jams That Stylus Up His Ass, or Paper Mario 2. Now we're starting to see more Metroid and Donkey Kong games than necessary. Argh!

Say what you will about all those other titles, but the Mario RPGs have all been fantastic, and Paper Mario is my personal favorite. Not to mention any game by Intelligent Systems = greatness.Originally Posted by Ex Ranza
I wouldn't mind all of those splinter titles if they were secondary to real Mario games (i.e. platforming), but there's like three times as many "Mario & Friends" games than there have been actual Super Mario games, which is absolutely pathetic.
Smash brothers in itself is a great service to humanity. Sure it "recycles" old charecters but does anyone realy care about old charecters when they are having the time of their life? Plus the trophy mode is the best way that a company can educate the children and the general public at hand about their history.

No no, don't get me wrong.. I'm not arguing the quality of Paper Mario 2 (or the others either, really). I was actually thinking about getting PM2... I'm just saying, does it have to be a Mario game? Why not a new character in a new world?Originally Posted by Bacon McShig

Oh don't get me wrong, I have no problem with the recycling, in fact I support it. I was simply stating that they recycle A LOT. Sometimes they even add more to them (It'd be awsome if some of the games such as EarthBound in which the characters are from, were thrown into smash brothers that'd be awsome... and unrealistic).Originally Posted by Gymkata
On that note, Nintendo also reuses a lot of old games, re-releasing them for the new systems. I am quite sure that Nintendo's profit recieved a good portion from games like Super Mario 3 on the GBA. Yes, Nintendo needs to come up with something new, but no they aren't quite doomed yet.
To be frank, I'm 22 years old, have been gaming all my life, and I still love all of Nintendo's little universes. I love all the Mario stuff. Party, Tennis, Golf, Kart, spin-offs... whatever. As far as I'm concerned, I haven't seen a bad Mario-based game made by Nintendo yet (The educational stuff doesn't count). If anything, seeing Mario is like seeing a good friend - You know you're going to have fun.
Would I like to see new stuff? Sure. I'd love it, and, honestly, I think that a good deal of new stuff has already been seen. Some more would be nice, but I'm not complaining about what they're releasing either.
Simply put, there is a reason I know that I'll always buy Nintendo machines (in addition to whatever else), and it's because their games kick so much ass. How many other companies in this current day can honestly say that they have put out so many must have games for one machine?

True, it would be nice to go with something new, but I have a feeling Nintendo's taking it slowly [Pikmin, Eternal Darkness etc]. Although, you have to give them credit for reviving a bunch of characters pretty well over and over. Most rehashes, remixes, and expansions of the same thing normally dont last years and years. Like you said, "the milking" has been working since, and if it's not broke, why fix it?Originally Posted by Ex Ranza

As an N fan, they better always make sequels to Mario, Zelda, etc. Not making sequels to those is a recipe for failure.
