First off, what are groups? In a few profiles I see something about Fight Club and things like that. Is this like a video game clan or something like that? Any information that can help me NOT get people to tell me a bunch of shit about how I'm a newbie and blah blah blah would be helpful.

I've been told that. Exactly what is so bad about starting a new thread? Isn't that what it's there for?
Most threads started by noobs are either asking information that can easily be found with a little searching, or have nothing worthwhile to say, just noobs trying to get noticed.
Choosing Opa as your post-icon = worst choice a newbie could possibly make.
Just observe and getting a feeling how TNL works. You'll then understand.

The only suggestion I can give is before you start a new thread, be damn sure there isn't one out there over the same subject.
