Thread: anyone still play with thier Super Nintendo?

  1. Yeah, Chronicles is the only FF I'm missing.

  2. Xardion and Gradius III.

I love Xardion for two reasons. One, my muse Hajime Katoki (creator of teh Virtual On series robot designs) did the robots for this game. Two, it was the first action game with RPG elements that I have ever played. To this day, the whole fusion is something I am a fan of.

    It doesn't, really.

What you can expect from the port: lots of slowdown, shoddy sound effects, and hideous load times (even to bring up the menu). The unlockable goodies and neat (yet choppy) anime scenes are nice bonuses, but I found the technical problems runied it for me. SNES cart all the way.

I love how people bring this up, it takes me like maybe 2-3 seconds tops to open the menu, wow, how HIDEOUS.

If you don't want to track down and pay the prices for the cart, just get the remake.

Yeah, Xardion kicked ass back in the day. I haven't played it in years so I'm not sure if holds up but it had some coolness going for it.

  6. Roufuss, it's 2-3 multiplied by however many times you actually have to open the menu, that adds up to a lot of needless time playing any game.

It is hideous because we have to put up with it every few seconds... DOH! But seriously, the fact that the SNES version has a load time of less than half a second makes a huge difference to the game.

  8. I'm just in the process of picking up the newer model SNES (smaller design), with 2 controllers and such. Time to bust out some Mario and DK...
I guess you've learned the benifit to waiting.
I agree, they should give people like you something. Perhaps a kick in the balls would do nicely and make you slightly less retarded.

This is true...I couldn't stand all the loading. Load to get to a menu, load to get out of a menu, load to get to different parts of the menu, load to go inside, load to go outside, load before battles, load after battles it never ends. FF2/4 on Playstation had no load times, so why did Chrono Trigger? Meh, that's why I downloaded the ROM.

Until you mentioned the name of the game, I thought you were talking about Legacy of Kain.
