Former President Reagan dead

I remember him from my childhood. I do feel for his family, but for him, its for the best, he lived 93 years, many of us wont see that, and with alzheimer's, thats a horrible thing to live with, you are barely really alive, so its almost better for him.

Reagan was a great President. I'm sure if he had the opportunity to run a 3rd term, he would have won by a landslide.


His build up of national arms, pretty much killed the Cold War and stopped the former Soviet Union from expanding into the Middle East. Sure it produced one of the highest national debts in history, but it really changed the way the world operated on that side of the ocean. I remember as a child, living in fear of the thought of a nuclear war between the US and USSR. A fear that had been felt by both nations, going back to the early 50's.

Wow, Jimmy Carter's favorite president was Ronald Reagan. I didn't know that. Kinda funny in a way.

It's only sad that he died because he was such a remarkable man, and remarkable men don't come around too often. You are seeing that now with Bush Jr, who I'm sure even his supporters would have a hard time justifying as being remarkable. Anyway, i'm sure he's already trying to convince God that he needs a missile defence program to end the cold war between heaven and hell.

Same here, she was just diagnosed. Today at my cousin's first birthday party, while we were singing happy bithday, she asked who's birthday it was.

Regan was president durring the best years of my life. Can't say I'll remember him anything but fondly. A shame to see him go.
