Thread: Nintendo Revolution

  1. Okay.

Kiddy, to me, is either too easy (simple) or just a bombardment of bright colors and cheerful cartoon characters. I can love games with both of these, but not when almost every GC game I've played is just that. All I meant, is that it gets old after a while when there isn't enough of an alternative.

And I don't see how I missed the point. The Revolution can be a great thing, whee. Everything I wanted to say about it had already been said, so I made a simple and half-joking comment about the excess of childish games Nintendo has made lately. I think you guys took it a bit too seriously, sorry.

  2. Bah, "kiddy" games... I prefer to call them "family-friendly."

  3. Metroid Prime, F-Zero GX, Waverace Blue Storm, Smash Bros Melee, P.N. 03, MGS TS, Ikaruga, Viewtiful Joe and RE make the GC totally worth my while. Everything else has been icing.

I've been playing it alot lately since I want to finish up some games and I'm having a blast.

If the launch lineup looks good for the next system I'll buy it on launch. Nintendo consoles are the only systems I buy at launch and I haven't really been disappointed so far.

Although the PS2 doesn't give "wiseass" remarks, it does grind, whirr, can refuse to open or play games, thus making the electronic equivalent of giving you the finger.

"Welcome to the Revolution: Why wait for Nintendo's new system? We've been fucking people over since 2000."

Damn, you beat me to it.

My PS2 has never given me a second of trouble. Neither did my PS1 before that.

I'd say that you just very accurately described the look of games like Disgaea, La Pucelle, and many of the other Nippon Ichi (?) games that I believe you are a fan of.

Understood. However, working at a small local game store gives me the unique and frustrating experience of seeing over a hundred PS2's gone bad with Disc Read Error Fever.

  9. Revolution INDEED.

A new way to play games, eh? Something so new that everyone has to learn how to play. I think the new console will use microphones to control the action and not just voice commands--it will respond to meowing. Or better yet--anal maracas...think about it.

Super Monkey Ball uses zero buttons, uses exclusively bright colors, is cartoony, and is one of the most difficult games ever made. Your argument is flimsy at best, and stupid at worst.

I've given Nintendo shit for being kiddy in the past, but that's not their problem. Their problem is too many shitty rehashes (Mario Party 15) and half-assed sequels to beloved franchises that don't appeal to anyone in particular (Super Mario Sunshine).
