This is true, but I bet you if I watched Japanese wrestling on a regular basis I'd be able to point obscurities in those games. I like Smackdown, don't get me wrong, it's just that one of the best things to do in Wrestlemania 19 is tag up with the Dudleys in a tornado tag and go to town with the double team moves.

Every other person just does the lame double team punches for a double team move. I also wish they'd put elimination in the 4 way battle royals. Right now the only way to do it is for one person to get DQed or counted out. I'd also like to be able to control my character after the elimination as well.

What I mean by that is if you don't know who Andre the Giant is or what his finisher is you wouldn't care that it's a bodyslam or a suplex (which The Hammers finisher apparently is in DOR). Luckily we can change it.

If I think that Wrestlemania 2000 is still one of the best wrestling games out there, would I like Wrestlemania XIX? Does it have a good character editor? Can you have and defend belts?

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but I play 4 person (or six person) battle royales all the time in Smackdown 5, and when someone gets eliminated they get to hang around the ring and fuck with the guys that are still wrestling.

Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 was the best. Everything from WM2000 was there plus you had super finishers, a MMA mode, more moves, create-a-belt & you could set a two line speech to say before each fight. And if you really wanted the WWF guys in there it was easy to make any one of 'em. I had 6 memory cards filled with CAWs at one point.

Yeah, I could live without trash moves like the spinarooni. And it was the Best $70 I've ever spent on a new game.

That would be awesome. When I talked to Asmik/AKI awhile back they seemed really into the WWE work because more peopl got to play it (and they made more money) but they were also very, very proud of their VPW series. As if it was their true child, not the first but the second.
