Solid state media is very expensive.
But for what it's worth, Microsoft hired a company to design a propietary solid state card, and speculation is thats what theyre gonna do for Xbox2.
Yeah I saw that too, would be a good idea, do we really need a 15 gig media card or the like though...Originally Posted by diffusionx
I think 4-8 gigs should be plenty for game updates and such, I have never added my own sound tracks for games so dont care about that feature..
Sorta like all those dead NES batteries?Originally Posted by JMET
Or Genesis ones, or SNES ones, or Sega CD and Saturn ones. The storage devices will all die out eventually, I'm just glad that it's now easier than ever to back them up to a more permanent format.

can't wait till nintendo moves to online, just to see everyone else move onto something bigger and better.
All is well.
Just using an optical drive virtually ensures an early death anyway. Do you think your GameCube will outlast your SNES? Good luck.Originally Posted by JMET
Hmm, I see this as Nintendo possibly finally seeing the potential of online gaming in it's full capacity. Can you imagine, just for a moment, a Super Smash Brothers Online as one of the first games released on their new system??? Who among us wouldn't want that?
Those who hate the Smash Bros. series for whatever reason. I'd love it though, that series would be perfect for online play.
