Psi Ops

I just got Psi Ops the other day, and while I haven't really gotten too far into it, it seems really freakin' awesome so far.

While the reviews for this are almost universally good, I didn't see a thread for this here at TNL. What's up with that? Is anyone playing this?

We slowly going through, since I dont have any free time lately, and dj wants me to watch, while he plays it.

So far its been great. Psi-powers(we only got 2 so far - telekenisis and remote veiwing) are nicely done, and definately fun to use in the combat. Picking enemy firing at you from the high floor and smash him into explosive barrel across the room, is damn satisfying. Or fly around on the crate taking out opposition beneath you. Or many other cool uses. Too bad Psi energy drains too fast. I cant wait to get Mind Drain to get some Scanner brain explosions going

There is also a co-op mode, but we didnt had a chance to try it out yet.

Yeah, the demo is cool, because it drops you into the beginning of the game, but with ALL of your Psi Powers. To say that you are a bit overpowered would be an understatement.

I picked it up on the Fry's special (along with a free copy of MK: DA -- uh, W00t?). Let's see -- memory wipe; military TK experiments; psi powers; chick sidekick to reawaken your memories and powers...hmmm...sounds familiar.

I've only played a bit, but it seems pretty solid so far. Implementation of psi-powers, plus an ever-accessible training room, is outstanding. I could live without the lumbering character movement, however -- the main character moves like he's in a 3g test bubble.

When I first saw that ad(that you can't fucking skip) on the OXM with the shitty "Where's my mind" music track and bad artwork, I thought the game would blow. But when I tried the demo, I was surprised it actually played well. It's good but there's too much other stuff I want to buy first.

JM and I have discussed, this is how your jedi powers should be in a star wars game. What I mean is the physics of the bodies getting thrown around. Really good Demo, will probably rent it.
