My gf is so-so into games. When I started dating her she played the occasional round of system-linked halo w/ "the guys" (and wasn't horribly, horribly bad) and played a few things on her GBA SP ex bought her...things like Super Monkey Ball and Warioware; the usual chic-friendly stuff. We live together, so my personal ferocious apetite for games is kind of hard for her to escape. At one point I was playing around 30-35 hours of PSO a week (which is painfully easy to do), which didn't exactly go over well. On the flip side, I've now gotten her into the game and she has a lvl. 72 charcter that she plays more than I do at the moment. Granted, she's more into socializing in the lobbies with her little group she has than playing, but just the fact that I've got her addicted to it has gotten her off my back about it to a greater extent. In all, since I want to break into the industry as a programmer pretty soon, I've tired really hard to get her to play different types of games, and tried to get her to understand things like why some games are good and why others aren't, among other things. Oh and she loves Animal Crossing as well.
I wouldn't say I wanted to date her primarily because she actually played games from time to time...but her willingness to learn about them and to accept that they are such an important aspect in my life certainly helped.
